After 9 years, the National Day fireworks are back in Taichung and will be accompanied by an abundance of music and drone performances.

The Taichung City Government will be hosting a National Day fireworks show at 8 p.m. on October 10 at Taichung’s Central Park. This year, the fireworks are scheduled to last for a full 36 minutes. Simulation of the fireworks reveals that they will feature four main themes and elements that celebrate Taiwan and local culture, including baseball, double ten logos, and the national flower plum blossoms.
Taichung City Mayor Lu Shiow-yen (盧秀燕) says that the fireworks in the past were usually accompanied by traditional music, national symphonies, and folk songs. This time, however, Taichung City’s jazz band will be playing during the fireworks. She says that in addition to the fireworks, there will also be a unique drone show on October 9.
